The 24 Hour Clock is Ticking

by Nazim Ahmad (Thanks to basykes for the photo on a creative commons licence) My old school created the short film which got me thinking, and I feel so proud of them that I wish I was back at school with them and tell them they mean a lot to me, so sharing it with my new [...]

Why am I not allowed to drink orange juice?

by Alisa Antonova I’m in a bar in London. I’m 17 and I want a drink. But not a vodka. Not a beer. Not a whisky on the rocks. Just a plain, simple, non-alcoholic orange juice. I’m not asking for the world, am I? Well, maybe I am actually… Last week my friends and i went to celebrate [...]

Ready Steady Persuade!

Article by Leyla Garaeva In childhood we do what our parents say. Then we grow up and other people make us do things we do not always like. Is there no way out of this? Of being pushed around like a leaf in the wind? Well, there just might be. Say ‘No’ to such a life. Stand up [...]

When in Rome, not everybody is Italian

Article by Katarina Marinkovic I live in London which means I get to know a lot of people. Those people are, often, from different countries. Yes, it’s cool to meet foreigners, to learn about their culture and exchange life perspectives, but dating them? Well, let’s say it’s not really as you’ve imagined. Is God a religious man?

Article by Katarina Marinkovic My first religious adventure started when I was eight years old. Growing up with atheist parents meant that I had a very poor knowledge of religion. How can you celebrate something you don’t believe in?

Russian view on English Fashion

Article by Ksenia Lukina Forget everything you knew about porridge*, five o’ clocks and conservativeness. A tourist guide or excursion can tell you nothing about the spirit of this city. This is the thing you can only feel while being on the streets. Here these streets are not the simple combinations of buildings and roads, but [...]

A True Londoner’s Night Out

Article by Hong Vinh Ngo On Tuesday a group of Bellerbys students visited the new home of Arsenal FC – the fantastic Emirates Stadium! It was a Champions League match between The Gunners (Arsenal’s nickname) and Olympiakos from Greece. Both teams played well, but in the end Arsenal were a bit luckier and won 2-0 in [...]

Media Students in the Picture – Greenwich’s Coolest Cinema

Article by Leyla Garaeva How would you like to have fun and learn at the same time?  London’s Foundation Media students did just that last week! They went with their teacher to a cool little artsy cinema called The Picturehouse.  It’s just a 10-minute walk from the school in Greenwich and well worth visiting. “It’s a kind of [...]

Students Learn the Value of Volunteering

Article by Ksenia Lukina “Work for no pay! Does it sound ridiculous and even incredible to you? Well, it is easy to understand your feelings, but volunteer work without any payment is very popular in the UK. The other day we had a meeting for students who want to volunteer. Kippa Brand and his ‘boss’ from the Greenwich [...]
